Diamond Street Condominiums

Brooklyn, New York

We have reinterpreted the narrow lot multi-family dwelling type that exists on this street, and designed a building that reflects aspects of the changing demography of north Brooklyn. Taking notes from the neighborhood, the entrance to the building is offset, and the three window precedent has been adapted to allow for maximum light and views for each of the four units. The new facade, although a departure from the typical buildings on this street, indicates the duplex nature of the apartments contained within. By manipulating the section, we were able to provide four duplex units, with generous living areas and double height spaces connected to a master suite loft.
