THERAPY & LEARNING CENTER

Brooklyn, New York

The conversion of this former warehouse in Park Slope to an educational program required a complete overhaul of the entire building. The students are a mix of pre-k and kindergarten level children, many with physical or learning challenges. At the heart of our design is the circulation system, with new elevator and stairs, and corridors with unique colors for ease in navigation. This system links four levels of new classrooms, therapy studios, administrative and support spaces, and a new rooftop playground. As part of the signage design, oversized numbers are cut into the floor to identify each classroom.
