We have reinterpreted the narrow lot multi-family dwelling type that exists on this street, and designed a building that reflects aspects of the changing demography of north Brooklyn. The new terra cotta facade, although a departure from the materials typical for this street, is an advanced rain-screen system. Taking notes from the neighborhood, the entrance to the building is offset, and the three window precedent has been adapted to allow for maximum light and views for each of the four units. By manipulating the section, we were able to provide four duplex units, with generous living areas and double height spaces connected to a master suite loft.
